Lauren Matsumoto is an American artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Matsumoto has worked as an artist for over three decades and is best known for integrating drawing and collage in her paintings. Her artworks explore human relationships with nature and the continual cycle of birth and decay. Matsumoto has had extensive training in the arts, receiving her BA in Painting from Yale University, and her MFA from the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has also worked as a guest lecturer and critic at Yale and Cooper Union. Matsumoto’s work has been exhibited extensively across the United States and internationally in Hong Kong, China, Tokyo, Japan and Oman. Matsumoto’s artworks have also been featured in numerous notable publications such as Aesthetica, Domino, Graphis and HOME Journal and her artwork graced the cover of Fresh Paint Magazine. Matsumoto artworks are also part of The Fontaine Collection and The Valentino Family collection in New York City and the Morean Arts Center in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
