Pan Jian is a Chinese artist who currently lives and works in Beijing, China. The artist can be distinguished by his tranquil and pensive landscape paintings consisting of a subdued palette of dark blue, purple and black. At first glance Pan Jian’s paintings appear abstract with images appearing and disappearing. However, upon closer inspection forest scenes, huts and mountain pathways emerge and are illuminated from the silvery background. Pan Jian has exhibited at RH Contemporary (New York), Asian Art Museum (San Francisco), and Today Art Museum (Beijing). Pan Jian has also been featured in the DSL collection (Paris), Budi Tek’s YUZ Foundation collection (Shanghai) and Today Art Museum (Beijing).
